History

The road to emission free mining equipment

  1. 2003

    ETF is founded

Eddy de Jongh starts ETF, with the goal of building a modular technical platform for mining trucks.

  2. 2003

    The name gets decided mid-flight

It was settled on a long flight from the Netherlands to Indonesia, the same flight where the marketing plan got worked out. The original plan to start in the Emirates gave Emirates Truck Factory. It could just as easily be read as Eddy’s Truck Factory, which is probably why nobody could let go of it. Short, blunt, and it stuck.

  3. 2003

A nut in the logo from day one

The nut went into the marque at the very beginning, because of the modular idea behind the platform. You have to be able to put a mining truck together and take it apart again with bolts and nuts.

  4. 2003 to 2015

    The core team stays

Eddy de Jongh and some of the partners went separate ways over the following years. The specialists and engineers who had started ETF on day one stayed, and kept working on emission free mining equipment to their own vision.

  5. 2015

    The battery electric platform starts

In August 2015 ETF began designing a battery electric all wheel drive surface mining vehicle with energy harvesting. Zero emissions, low noise, no diesel engines or turbines. Only batteries.

  6. Today

    Ready to supply

ETF can now supply all wheel drive mining haulage trucks from 200 to 800 metric tonnes of payload, under Integrated Mining Haulage Contracts.

A nut, from day one

The nut sits in the ETF marque because of the modular idea behind the whole platform. You have to be able to put a mining truck together, and take it apart again, with bolts and nuts.

That decision, taken in 2003, is why a wheel, a battery or a cabin can be exchanged in fifteen minutes today, and why the whole maintenance model holds together.

ETF HOLDING is a privately held Slovenian company with no links to other companies that also use the name ETF.

Press and professionals regularly ask about the current status of ETF's innovation and development. We cannot answer every question separately, so this site and our online channels are where we keep followers up to date.
